Payload consisted of Spacelab-2 plus three pallets. Primary objective of the Spacelab-2 mission was to verify the performance of Spacelab's systems and to determine its interface capability with the Space Shuttle vehicle. Experiments covered the life sciences, plasma physics, astronomy, high energy astrophysics, solar physics, atmospheric physics and technology research. Landed August 6 at 3:54 PM, EDT at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. Mission duration was seven days, 22 hours, 45 minutes. Space Shuttle Challenger landed on its 126th orbit.
